Kenji is the newest legendary brawler coming to Brawl Stars on September 26, 2024. This comprehensive guide will cover everything you need to know about this samurai-turned-sushi chef with a mysterious past.
Background and Appearance
Kenji runs a sushi restaurant in Star Park and lives with his family, but hides something from his past. Visually, he has a samurai/ninja-inspired design, reflecting his background as a skilled warrior.
Ablities
Main Attack - Dash 'N' Slash
Kenji alternates between two attacks:
- A dash attack dealing 1,000 damage
- A wide slash attack dealing 2,000 damage to multiple enemies
Both attacks have a short 3-tile range but reload very quickly (1 second). This combination allows Kenji to deal a total of 3,000 damage to a single enemy while healing for 1,050 health.
Super - Slashimi
- Kenji throws a fish and performs two powerful slashes in an X-shaped pattern:
- Each slash deals 2,600 damage over a wide area
- Has a range of 8-11 tiles and can hit through walls
- Kenji is invulnerable while using his super
- Heals Kenji for 700 health per slash
Skins
Kenji will debut with a 29-gem Rare skin called "Fruit Samurai." This skin changes its color scheme to maroon and dark green, with white hair and a black headband.
- Its color scheme is in Maroon and dark green, a departure from the traditional red, white, and black
- His headband is sleek black, replacing the previous fabric
The skins's mysterious appearance, giving Kenji a more enigmatic and alluring presence on the battlefield
Gameplay Strategy
Kenji excels at close-range combat and hit-and-run tactics. His combination of mobility, damage, and self-healing make him a formidable brawler in the right hands. Here's how he performs in different game modes:
- Gem Grab: May struggle due to short range and lack of map control.
- Brawl Ball: Performs well due to mobility and survivability.
- Heist: Less effective due to low damage output and short range.
- Bounty: Can excel on certain maps despite short-range disadvantages.
- Hot Zone: Solid choice due to constant pressure and survivability.
- Knockout: Strong contender, especially in the late game with healing abilities.
- Showdown: Excels in both Solo and Duo due to survivability and surprise attacks.
Tips and Tricks
- Use Kenji's dash to quickly close in on enemies or escape dangerous situations.
- Combine dash and slash attacks for maximum damage and healing.
- Time your super carefully to take advantage of the invulnerability frames.
- Use the "Nigiri Nemesis" star power to tank damage in crucial moments.
- In team modes, use Kenji's AOE attacks to hit multiple enemies at once.
