The Supercell developers recently held a Brawl Talk event, in which they announced the newest season of Brawl Stars - Mystery at the Hub. This update brings two new brawlers to the game: R-T and Willow. The Ayakashi clan has also been added as part of this release, with special skins available for purchase from March 2023 onwards. Get ready to explore all that's new!
Two All-new Brawlers Is Coming on The Way
R-T
R-T is a Chromatic Brawler, recently added to investigate The Mystery at the Hub. He's equipped with cameras that can keep an eye on all of Starr Park and uncover its secrets.
R-T has information on all Brawlers, so if you want to know something about them it's the place to go. If R-T hits its target with a main attack, it will be marked and take more damage from any subsequent attacks until the mark is removed. It can also mark multiple targets at once!
R-T's Super is unique, as it splits his body in two. Players can control the upper half and then use R-T's attack to create a circular area of damage around them. Both halves will act simultaneously - this allows players to have an effect on two different lanes at once! It’s great for helping your team out by attacking brawlers elsewhere too!
When players equip the Crimson R-T Skin, they can turn R-T into a dark wizard. If his Super is activated again afterward, he'll return to normal form and heal himself. Players can also get Patrol RT with 29 gems which will give them police sirens for Starr Park visitors to hear so that everyone follows the law!
Willow
Willow is a legendary fighter and one of three new characters. She watches over the Tunnel of Love located close to Mortis' Funeral Parlor, where she can manipulate her opponents with their own passions. To attack them, Willow throws out her lantern which acts similarly to Barley's offensive move.
Willow has the ability to throw tadpoles at her targets, which cause poison damage over time. She also can cast a Super move where she takes control of an enemy Brawler for some time; they cannot use their own Super or Gadgets while under Willow's control. To escape this mind-control, you must either wait until it ends naturally and then defeat Willow while controlling someone else, or attack the Brawler who is currently being controlled by her.
Willow's ability to heal any Brawler she controls makes them virtually invincible, so it must be used carefully or else the opponent can turn things around. If a controlled Brawler has low Health they can break free, making Willow's healing power ineffective.
Willow will be available to play with her special 29 Gems Skin, Axl Willow at the beginning of April. Don't forget that once she's released you can begin unlocking her on Starr road!
Myriads of Points and Credits Are Available in The Mastery System
Developers have replaced the old XP system with a Mastery track for every Brawler. On this track, players can collect coins, power points, credits and special cosmetics - sometimes even Chroma credits! People asked for more coins so developers gave out 1750 per brawler which is an impressive amount of rewards.
If you want to level up in each Mastery track, all you have to do is win matches with a particular Brawler. You won't ever be set back and everyone will eventually reach the highest tier. The number of Mastery Points that players gain depends on how many Trophies they've earned or their Power League/Club League Rank - if your Trophy Tier or Rank is higher, then more points can be gained!
What Is Mastery And How Does It Work
The Mastery system considers the fact that when a player has more Trophies, their games become harder and they may have to wait longer for matchmaking. However, because of this difficulty level, players will get rewarded with more points per victory. Although it's not speedy progress, progressing in Mastery is quite simple.
Completing a Mastery track for one Brawler can take up to two days. There is an upper limit on the amount of Mastery Points you are able to get in 24 hours, so there's no need to worry about spending too much time on Brawl Stars if you reach it. It may be best though to remember and take some time off afterward!
Once you finish the Mastery track, you will be rewarded with a new item called Title. This appears under your name on the Battle Start screen and each Brawler has its own special title - Mortis gets Creature of the Night while Lola unlocks Drama Queen etc. Once unlocked, these titles can then be used for any Brawler that is available to play!
Players can increase their Mastery in Power League, Club League and Trophy matches. However, this feature is not available for map maker games, friendly matches or challenges - it only works when the game has been updated.
New Modes, New Maps And More
Basket Brawl and Duels are now here to stay! They'll take turns using the same Game slot, so it will switch up daily. Plus, you get new Maps for each of these modes too - more fun times ahead!
At the start of every match, players will be presented with a Battle Start Screen. This includes their skin and profile picture along with any pins they have collected over time as well as how many Fame points they've earned, their Mastery Level and Title - all things that have been gathered by them through playing.
Players have the ability to personalize their Brawlers in Brawl Stars. This allows them to choose different settings for each character, or use the same ones every time they play a match. Additionally, this information can be seen by other players during Showdown matches and on your Profile Page too! It's also possible to customize some of these items displayed there as well.
New Outfits And Skins
Bull is getting a new Alleycat skin, while Piper will be donning an elegant outfit and futuristic gunbrella to become Mariposa Piper. Both of these awesome skins can be unlocked in the first tier of Brawl Pass!
Detective Gray now has a brighter color palette and an iconic finger gun. He also gets his own Skin with some extra colors, as well as being part of the Ayakashi Clan group!
- Kitsune Lola: Players can experience a unique look with this skin, which is inspired by Japanese masks and includes Lola's classic fox mask and gun.
- Oni Otis: Street artist by day, evil spirit by night.
- Tengu Mike Skin: Dynamike’s explosions get a bit more magical
Unassigned skins:
- Bell Nani
- Carpet Rider Carl
- Popstar Janet Skin
- Spirit Knight Frank
Tanuki Jessie and Summer Jessie will be the first two skins to receive a makeover, followed by Bunny Penny and Dark Bunny Penny which will match the current design of Penny.
