Although it's only been two weeks into August, this month has already been filled with exciting events in the world of Pokémon Go. The 2023 Pokémon World Championships have just ended and trainers have also eagerly anticipated the upcoming Pokémon Go Fest celebration. While the festival will take place in New York soon, players from all over the world can still participate and enjoy its offerings.
The New York edition of Pokémon Go Fest will occur from August 18th to 20th, with various activities taking place in both Randall's Island Park and other parts of the city. However, for trainers who are not located in New York City, they can still participate through Niantic's Noxious Swamp event. This event will showcase a selection of poison and dragon-type Pokémon that are part of the celebration happening in NYC.
Noxious Swamp is like the Glittering Garden event, where players worldwide could capture special Pokémon that were only available during the Osaka and London parts of Pokémon Go Fest 2023. It will be active from August 19th at 10:00 am until local time on the 22nd at 8:00 pm.
Throughout this timeframe, several Pokémon with specific themes such as Zubat, Venonat, Tentacool, Dratini, Axew, Nobat and Skorupi will be commonly found in their natural habitats. However, the most noteworthy discovery for players should be Shiny Skrelp which is being introduced to Pokémon Go for the first time during this event.
Raid battles will include some of the same Pokémon like Druddigon, Grimer, Weezing, and Turtonator. Additionally, Shadow Raids will have different Pokémon such as Sneasel, Onix, Pidove, and Houndour. Moreover, there are various Field Research and Timed Research tasks available that offer extra rewards for participating in them.
In addition, trainers can also make use of several event perks such as double the amount of Candy when catching Pokémon, more chances to encounter Team Go Rocket balloons, and an additional Raid Pass every day.
Get your hands on Pokémon Go now and get ready for the upcoming Pokemon Go's Noxious Swamp Event!
