WHAT IS SCIENCE AND ART CENTER (BİLSEM)?

Science and Art Center is an independent private institution opened to provide support training outside school hours to students who attend formal education institutions and are identified by experts as having special talents in the field of general ability (mental), visual arts or music, in order to develop their talents and use them at the highest level. It is an educational institution.

Science and Art Centers are not an alternative educational institution to formal schools, but an educational institution that supports formal educational institutions.

WHAT CLASSES ARE STUDENTS ADMITTED TO THE SCIENCE AND ART CENTER?

The grade levels from which students will be admitted to the Science and Art Center are determined by the Ministry every year. In line with the decision of the Ministry, diagnosis was made in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades in 2016-2017.

HOW DOES THE BİLSEM STUDENT ADMISSION PROCESS WORK?

In order to determine the specially talented students to be admitted to the Science and Art Centers, within the framework of the diagnostic calendar determined by the Ministry every year, students from the grade levels determined by the Ministry are selected as special talent candidates in the field of general ability (mental), visual arts or music by their classroom teachers via e-school, using the observation forms prepared by the Ministry. is shown.

Students nominated as candidates are taken to the group screening exam prepared by the Ministry, on a date determined by the Ministry.

According to the results of the group screening exam, students who pass the threshold scores determined by the Ministry for each grade level every year throughout Turkey are examined individually by certified experts. In the individual examination, a valid, reliable and standard intelligence test is applied to the students.

Students who are nominated in the field of Visual Arts and/or music talent and who pass the threshold scores determined by the Ministry every year for visual arts and music talent fields according to the results of the group screening exam are subject to individual examination in the field of visual arts and/or music talent by the Provincial Identification Commission.

According to the results of individual examinations in all three areas, students who pass the Turkey threshold determined by the General Directorate of Special Education and Guidance Services of the Ministry of National Education for each grade level and each talent area are registered to the Science and Art Center.
