Railyard Inventory Management Software

Our Railyard Inventory Management software focuses on creating a method to maintain a live track map for train crews and management staff to track railcars as they move through a facility. We have developed a handheld touch screen tablet (RailTab) which allows the train crew to easily drag and drop railcars as they move them through the yard. The software also allows management to create switch requests for the train crew. We have made an effort to track every movement and changes made to each railcar as it travels through the yard.

Railcar Inspection Software

Railcar Inspections are a huge part of the management of a railyard facility. Our customers have saved time and money by being able to quickly assign and track inspections on railcars within the facility. The Railcar Inspection Software is integrated with tablet so the user can take photos of required repairs and quickly complete a checklist inspection. Many repair facilities can utilize our Inspection Software to provide consistency in their repair practice and document repairs using photos and comments.

About - Railroad Software was founded with a single goal, “to make railyard management software available and affordable to every railyard in the world regardless of their size or technical capabilities.” Over the course of running a small to medium sized railyard we realized that many of our business practices could be improved upon by having a railyard management software. So the hunt was on for the right software to fit our size and budget. After going through multiple demos and receiving quotes we quickly realized that the software that is available in the industry did not appear to be user-friendly and was also cost prohibitive for our operation. At this point the idea was born – “we have experience in managing railyards and can develop a software package that we would like to use”
