KNOWLEDGE CENTER FOR INDUSTRIAL SAFETY

Industrial Safety has always been an important aspect and also a matter of concern for the Indian Railway workshops & PU's. It was felt necessary to have a platform, which could cover all aspects of Industrial Safety, including codal provisions, safety procedures, dealing with statutory and regulatory bodies and also to clear any doubts arising in day to day work.

Attending to the demands from all quarters, creation of eight knowledge centers has been envisaged by the railway board, with COFMOW as nodal agency, to facilitate knowledge sharing, effective training, trouble shooting and provide guidance among workshops and PU's, on their respective subjects, viz. Maintenance of critical M&P's and industrial safety.

WRS, Raipur has been entrusted the responsibility of creating knowledge center on "industrial safety". WRS, Raipur accepts this responsibility with ample enthusiasm.

As the host of the "knowledge center on industrial safety", we aim to provide quality and much useful information on the dedicated web site to the users across Indian Railways, by facilitating easy availability of codal safety provisions, easy to follow 'on the site working manuals', information on latest safety equipments, safety rules and library. Reference to the mammoth codes and rules will be a thing of the past, with concise representation of them and facility of the help desk. The FAQ section will be much useful to resolve the queries made.

With a moderate beginning, it will further be elaborated, with addition of useful matter on various topics so as to become indispensable for the users. It will also facilitate and galvanise the never before knowledge sharing over Indian Railways.

Knowledge Center will not only be useful for the Indian Railways but Industry at large. It shall be epitome of Industrial Safety in the region, which is largely populated with medium and large public and private industries.
