Diarrheal disease is a leading cause of mortality and morbidity in children in the world, especially in developing countries, corresponding to the second biggest killer of children under five, causing about 525,000 deaths each year ; of the approximately 1700 million cases of childhood diarrheal disease occur each year in which the successful water management is of vital importance. HidraPedia corresponds to an innovative application for mobile devices designed to support the calculation of the volumes of liquid oral and intravenous, based on plans A, B and C of hydration, necessary to restore water balance conveniently in a child affected for this condition to make just a few clicks. This new tool was originated in the Department of Pediatrics by Dr. José Miguel Suescún Vargas, School of Medicine and Health Sciences of the Universidad del Rosario in Bogota, Colombia; It is oriented for use both pediatricians, pediatric specialists, family physicians and general practitioners, as residents, interns and medical students. This app has a very intuitive interface which, by the weight, age and state of hydration of the child, to orient the hydration plan to use and the different volumes to be used to restore water to a specific patient. Also has the ability to set alarms to remind the user medical supervision plan used in each of the boys or girls in water treatment; allowing also support access tables and references, as additional aid instruments.
