The book's story about exemplary Islamic figures, among its contents, discusses the story of Imam Al-Ghazali
Abu Hamid Muhammad Ibnu Muhammad Ibnu Ahmad, was born in 450 H/ 1059 in Thus, Khurasan area. He was known as Al - Ghazali because his father was a wool spinner or because he came from the village of Ghazalah. He died in 505 H / 1111.
His education began in his area, namely studying with Ahmad Ibnu Muhammad al - Razkani al - Thusi, after that he moved to Jurjan to study led by Abu Nash al-Ismaili studying all areas of religion and language, after graduating he returned to Thus studying Sufism with Sheikh Yusuf al - Nassaj (died 487 AH), then went to Nisyapur to study with Abul Ma'al al-Juwaini who had the title Imam al - Haramain and continued his Sufism studies with Sheikh Abu Ali al - Fadhl Ibnu Muhammad Ibnu Ali al - Farmadi, and he began teaching and writing in Fiqh Science.
After Imam al - Juwaini died he moved to Mu'askar to participate in various discussion forums and seminars among ulama and intellectuals and with all his brilliance he became a professor at the Nidzamiyah college in Baghdad in 484 AH, besides giving lectures, he also studied Greek philosophy and Islamic philosophy. The brilliance, the glory of his name and the abundance of worldly pleasures in Baghdad were greater than when he was in Mu'askar, in this city he became ill and suddenly left Baghdad, resigning from this worldly glitz.
Starting in 488 H/1095 he went to Damascus. At the Umawi Mosque he performed 'itiqaf and dhikr at the top of the western minaret all day long with limited eating and drinking. He entered Sufi suluk with riyadhah and mujahadah continuously like that for 2 years in Damascus. After that he went to Baitul Maqdis in Palestine, every day he entered Qubbah Shahrah to do dhikr, he also went to al-Khalil to make a pilgrimage to the grave of Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
After leaving Palestine, he performed the Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca and made a pilgrimage to the tomb of Rasulullah in Medina. He once returned to Baghdad to teach at the Baghdad Nidzamiyah College, but not long afterward he returned to Thus and founded a khanaqah for Sufis and founded a madrasa to teach Sufism. Al-Ghazali's writings cover various fields of Islam, Kalam, Fiqh, Philosophy, Sufism and others in the form of books or treatises.
