- Create a shortcut on the home screen to lock your smartphone even more comfortable.

Use:

Lock can be most useful when the phone has a primary unlocking method (pattern, PIN, password, ...) and at the same time a secondary unlocking method (smart lock, fingerprint detection, iris detection, facial detection, etc.). Both should be activated.

Example:

(Primary: PIN, secondary: fingerprint detection or smart lock)

If the device is rebooted or switched on, the PIN (primary unlocking method) of the device must be entered once in order to use the secondary unlocking method (fingerprint, smart lock).

If you lock the device with the power button, it is the case with Smart Lock that the phone can be used without any further unlocking measures for everyone.

If you lock the device with Lock (for example via a shortcut on the home screen or in the dock of the device), it is necessary to use the primary unlocking method of the phone (in this case, enter the PIN).

Only then the secondary unlocking method will be available again (if you lock the device with the power button now).
