The wire is cut to about 16 inches, then folded in half, and then glued to the back of a shell along with a piece of felt. Once that is done then beads can be strung on the wire in any color combination that is desired. Some space at the ends should be left to close it off so that it is a complete circle.

Another ornament that children can make involves covering a Styrofoam ball in shells. At first they can use school glue to make them stay on the surface. Once a little one has finished their decorating their handiwork can be reinforce it with hot glue. Before the decoration begins though it is wise to add something to the base foundation that will allow the finished product to be hung up.
